Experience an easy trek around the Pokhara valley on the Himalayan foothills to Begnas village. Pokhara is a beautiful city lake surrounded by the giant peaks of the Annapurna range. Trekking route
The Pokhara trek is a short and easy trek in the majestic Annapurna region. The trail is good and winds through picturesque hill villages, rice fields and rhododendron forests. The trek is suitable for all good walkers in good physical condition. The Begnas region offers picturesque and quiet hill villages that appreciate lake and mountain views.
Cultural interest
From Pokhara, and all along the way, the scenery of the mountain is breathtaking with the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchare, Nilgiri and Manaslu snow peaks. You walk through the green forest of Rhododendron and village fields for an incredible discovery. Make your first encounter with the Buddhist and Hindu religions for an extraordinary cultural experience of the people's lifestyle.
Climate
In December, temperatures are getting cooler and can occasionally get down to -5/8°C. It is the best time to appreciate the beauty of the valley and the stunning views of the mountains.
From February to May begins the dry season. Days are warm with crystal clear skies in the morning and clouds in the afternoon. Rainstorms are occasional at the end of the day and, during the afternoon; temperatures can reach 30°C.
From June, the monsoon starts with more rain and snow falls at increasing altitudes.
Training
Pokhara view trek is an easy trail. Be fit and remain in good physical shape before the trek. Walking, running, cycling or/and swimming several times a week before your trek is recommended to be in excellent physical condition.
Insurance
Your insurance policy should state that trekking activities are involved and should be designed specifically with the needs of adventure travel. Your travel insurance policy should also include air rescue and repatriation
Eco-Friendly Behaviour
Please keep in mind that you are not allowed to pollute or leave your garbage in the Annapurna Valley. Your guide will collect your rubbish every morning to be brought back at the end of the trip. Ask your guide to pick up your small plastic bags, bottles or litter. Use the toilets facilities provided in lodges, tea-houses to reduce the impact of pollution in streams and local villages. Always respect this splendid valley.
