Oxygen mask for climbing expeditions

Supplemental oxygen system is common on most of the 8000mers peaks. Most climbers use extra oxygen when climbing Cho Oyu or Everest. It reduces the impact of the altitude by lowering artificially the true altitude, making you warmer and pulling off the first symptoms of AMS.

The POISK Sytem

The POISK Oxygen cylinders are manufactured in Russia and has been used for years by climbers on Everest an 8000m peaks. The system includes oxygen tanks that have to be carried all the way through, a regulator that regulate the Oxygen flow and a mask that climbers ajust on their face. We use the Poisk System on Kilimanjaro for medical purpose.

The TopOut System

The system was designed and has been built specifically for climbing Everest using aerospace standards employed with the RAF. This is the only system built specifically for climbing Everest
by an aerosystems engineer who has climbed Everest in the process of testing the prototype.

REACH SUMMIT has turned to the Ted Atkins' system and is pleased to propose the TopOut system to climbers

REACH SUMMIT also provide medical oxygen at Base Camp in case of emergency. When in Kathmandu, you could test the oxygen system we provide and get more familiar with it. You could also try several mask to find the one that suits you best. It is important you get the right size to be ajusted with your goggles. if the mask is too large, it won't stay in place and become unconfortable to use. It will also reduce considerably your vision and unable you to see your feet ... but with Top Out, the mask fits perfectly !

As we feel concerned about environmental impact on the mountain, we make our best to bring back all Oxygen cylinders used during expedition.
